Relaxation and Swedish Massage Session: Swedish massage therapy is one of the most implemented and well known type of therapeutic massage with a variety of health benefits.  Lengthening, kneading, and vibrational strokes are utilized to support increased blood flow, pain management, boosting the immune system, reducing chronic stress, and healing anxiety and depression. Add aromatherapy oils for additional relaxation benefits. 

 

Deep Tissue: Deep Tissue therapeutic massage is beneficial for those whose focus is on realigning deeper muscle tissue, connective tissue, and fascia. It is especially beneficial for those recovering from an injury or chronic back aches and pains.  This modality highlights joint mobilization techniques, myofascial release, cross fiber work, pin and stripping of the specific adhesions, trigger point release.

 

CranioSacral: Craniosacral therapy can be used to improve nervous system functioning and a variety of physical and psychological conditions. Gentle pressure is used on the thoracic system, neck, and head to relieve stress and pain caused by an imbalanced and compress craniosacral and musculoskeletal system.  Light pressure utilized in a craniosacral session affects the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds the brain and spinal cord to effect a variety of conditions: back pain, brain injury, chronic fatigue, concussion, fibromyalgia, immune disorders, migraines, neck pain, PTSD.

 

Athletic Massage Therapy: Therapeutic sports massage is a type of massage technique that focuses on treating soft tissue aches, pain and injuries that are associated with recreational activities. Massage can reduce muscle stiffness and improve relaxation by reducing heart rate and blood pressure. Modalities offered include stretching, active release techniques, joint mobilization, rocking and jostling, and acupressure release. This is a great complementary modality that is incredibly useful on its own or blended with other forms of massage.

 

Each in-office appointment (at our location in Downtown Portland) offers a fusion of Swedish, Deep Tissue, TuiNa modalities. Clients can also request other techniques including:  sports massage, relaxation, craniosacral, or prenatal.

Homemade Natural Soap

Increase your sense of calm and connectedness to your mind and body with complimentary aromatherapy.  Essential oils are distilled from plants and provide wonderful healing benefits for the body and mind. Chose from one of our Young Living Essential oil Blends.  Young Living provides one of the most therapeutic grade oils on the market. SomaFlow Health and Massage currently offers Rosemary, Lavender, and Chamomile blends.

Sound Therapy

Buddhist Cymbals

Begin and end your therapeutic massage sessions with complementary sound bathing.  Weighted tuning forks, Tibetan singing bowls and Native American flute are utilized to begin and end your bodywork session to promote deeper relaxation, calming emotions/anxiety, energy center balancing, and quieting the mind

Cupping

Silicone cups are placed on areas of muscular stagnation. the suction from the cups draw the muscle and the superficial layers of the skin into the cup to allow blood flow and relief. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
